Privacy Policy & Terms of Service
Verglow is built on the principle that your inner life is yours. We collect only what's needed to provide the service, we never sell your data, and we give you full control to delete everything at any time.
1. Who we are
Verglow is a mobile wellness application developed and operated by Verglow. For questions about this policy, contact us at support@verglow.app.
2. Data we collect
When you use Verglow, we collect the following categories of data:
- Account data — your email address, used to create and identify your account.
- Mood check-ins — the mood scores and optional notes you submit inside the app.
- Journal entries — the text you write in the private journal feature. These are stored encrypted in our database.
- Activity data — which therapeutic games and tracks you complete, and when.
- Usage analytics — anonymised, aggregated events (e.g. "feature tapped") to help us understand how the app is used. No personally identifiable information is attached.
- Device information — operating system version and device type, collected automatically by our analytics provider.
We do not collect your real name, phone number, location, contacts, camera roll, or any data not listed above.
3. How we use your data
Your data is used exclusively to:
- Provide and personalise the Verglow experience (showing your history, streaks, and Lumen's state).
- Improve the app — identifying features that work well and areas that need attention.
- Send transactional communications — account-related emails only (e.g. password reset). We do not send marketing emails without explicit opt-in.
- Ensure security — detecting and preventing fraudulent or abusive use of the service.
We do not use your journal entries or mood data to train machine learning models or for any purpose other than displaying them back to you.
4. Third-party services
Verglow uses the following third-party services to operate. Each is bound by its own privacy policy.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for advertising or marketing purposes.
5. Data retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data — including mood check-ins, journal entries, and activity history — is permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days.
6. Deleting your account and data
You can permanently delete your Verglow account and all associated data at any time from within the app:
- Open the app and go to Profile.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion. This action is immediate and irreversible.
If you are unable to access the app, email support@verglow.app and we will delete your data manually within 72 hours.
7. Children's privacy
Verglow is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact support@verglow.app and we will delete it promptly.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data: TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, and row-level security policies in our database ensuring users can only access their own data.
No method of electronic transmission is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please disclose it responsibly to support@verglow.app.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you via the app. Continued use of Verglow after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
10. Terms of Service
By using Verglow, you agree to use the app for lawful purposes only and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You retain ownership of any content you create in the app (journal entries, etc.). You grant Verglow a limited licence to store and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.
Verglow is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not a licensed mental health provider. The app is intended as a self-improvement tool and is not a substitute for professional psychological or medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
